Carl R. Chase passed away suddenly May, 03, 2010. Carl was born in Winnipeg to
Carl and Phyllis Chase, moved to Port Arthur and attended P.A.C.I. He worked as
a papermaker at Great Lakes Paper. Later he joined Great West Life Assurance
Company as an agent until he retired. Carl enjoyed family and friends. He became
a founding Chairman of Ducks Unlimited, served on the Board Of Directors at
Trinity United Church, Founding Director and Past President of Thunder Bay
Estate Planning Institute, Past President of Canadian Life Underwriters, Member
of Shuniah Lodge AF & AM, Member of Scottish Rite, Khartum Temple of the Shrine,
Captain of the Lakehead Shrine Motor Patrol, Member of ACT/UCT and
Founder/President of The Keri Chase Foundation.
Carl will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Maddy (nee
Logan), children Brad (Dawna), Kim (Rob), grandchildren: Carly, Cassy, Hannah,
Jonathon, and Logan, his mother Phyllis, brother Kenneth (Diane), sister Judith
(Terry) Axelson, brother-in-law Laurie (Dianne) Logan, nephew Rob Logan. Carl
was predeceased by his father Carl Chase, daughter Keri Chase, mother-in-law and
father-in-law Mary and Richard Gosling. Surviving are nieces and nephew Shelley (Phil) Sauvé,
Leslie (Francis) Abby, Zoe Delisle, Michael (Catherine Federchuk) Chase.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service took place on Friday, May 7,
2010 at 1:00 pm at Riverside Cemetery with Rev. Randy Boyd officiating.
Memorial donations to the Keri Chase Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
The family would like
to extend their appreciation for the overwhelming support of sympathy they
received from friends and associates and the generous contributions to the
Foundation in Carl's memory
